Our Children Are Our Future
Each year more than 2,000 children in Santa Clara County need a home. They've experienced parental neglect, abuse or exploitation. The Department of Family and Children's Services (DFCS), County of Santa Clara, finds these children caring, adoptive homes.

Program Resource Guide" online booklet.
Our Children Need Understanding
and Support
Like the diverse community in which we live, foster children come from families of many ethnic backgrounds. At DFCS, we pride ourselves in matching children with families that support and understand each child's needs. Our commitment is
to ease the trauma of leaving home by providing a stable, loving environment that can become the child's permanent home if needed.
Our Children Need a Family Like Yours
We have children of all ages, including many sibling groups. The majority of our children are of color.
Our greatest need for homes exists for:
- Two or more related children (sibling groups)
- Boys ages seven through nine
- Infants and preschoolers with special needs
- Teenagers
